In May 2020 we will be going to Aranjuez, the holiday residence of Spanish kings and Cuenca with its famous hanging houses. Details will be available in September 2019.
In order for you to have an idea of what we do, here are the details of a very successful recent Spanish venture.
Levante: a taste of original Spain
The Levante is the term used for the Eastern part of Spain: the Valencia region plus Eastern Aragon. In most of it old Spain lives and breathes and it has not been too ‘prettified’. We will also be staying in a historic castle town on the sea, where tourists visit but less frequently linger.
- Teruel: A likeable and impressively monumental town in the hills with some of the finest Mudejar (16th century) buildings in Spain
- The St Michaels Mount of Spain, Peniscola, a City on the sea with narrow streets, beaches and distinguished fish restaurants
- The medieval Fortress town of Morella
- The nature reserve plus some ruins in Desierto de Las Palmas: the desert of the palm trees
We will fly on the Wednesday late afternoon with Easy jet from Gatwick to Valencia and come back the following Monday evening.
£840 per person. This includes the flights and most travel in Spain. We will stay in 3 star or above hotels, two nights in Teruel, the other three by the sea. Cost does not include lunch or dinner, travel to the airport in England or museum or other entrance charges in Spain. If you would like to share a room, cost will be less.
If you would like to book: email Hugh at firstname.lastname@example.org by December 30th. To confirm your booking I will need the £175 deposit: cheque or bank transfer. The balance will be payable by the end of January. Maximum number for this trip will be 15 people.
